It’s the Henry Wag TV Debut where Grant Rogers, the innovator behind Henry Wag, features alongside the notorious Microfibre Noodle Glove Dog Drying Towel in the latest instalment of BBC’s The Customer is Always Right. The show, presented by Lucy Alexander, sees three innovators battle it out to win the coveted award through rounds of product testing. Each product is evaluated in-depth by a cast of five families (some celebrity!) across the UK, who review the products in their own homes and leave video reviews.

Grant Rogers will go head to head with two other non pet industry specific entrepreneurs in Series 1 Episode 10 of the programme. Does he have what it takes to wow the reviews, as well as the audience watching along at home?!

Henry Wag TV Debut: The Customer is Always Right

The Henry Wag Microfibre Noodle Dog Towel was created by Grant to overcome the wet and dirt associated with dogs that live and walk rurally. Inspired by his own Jack Russell Lola, who absolutely loves the water, Grant set to work developing a unique product that shortened drying times after walks, particularly in winter. The highly absorbent microfibre towel features gloved ends for greater control of the dog and the towel during drying. The Henry Wag drying devices are one of the brand’s most popular product ranges and has since expanded to include noodle mats, drying coats and new gloves. There’s even an entire equine specific drying range too!

During the making of the Henry Wag TV debut, the film crew visited Grant at his home in the beautiful Wye Valley to understand the story behind the creation of the product. Of course they also got to meet Grant’s Jack Russell and inspiration, Lola, in person to film some lifestyle shots too! The episode features an in-depth interview with Grant, to camera, exploring his inspiration behind the Henry Wag brand, as well as more about his childhood growing up rurally, surrounded by all sorts of farm animals.

“Living in the country presents its own challenges for dog owners. Dirt and water are a fact of life and can be a barrier to regular exercise,” commented Grant.“ I set out to create a range of products to remove these barriers so enabling regular exercise for dogs and owners and the building of closer relationships.”

During the Henry Wag TV Debut, the product was tested out by a range of dog owners, on dogs of all shapes and sizes. It was even tested by a couple of families who didn’t own a dog, instead innovatively testing out the product on spills, toddler messes around the home and post shower drying. The versatility of the product proved to be a popular feature and subsequently a huge talking point in the programme, particularly for the families who didn’t have dogs to test it out on at the time. The glove was tested in both indoor and outdoor environments throughout the episode, again highlighting the versatility and portability of this microfibre product.

While many reviewers recognised the similarities between the Henry Wag Noodle Glove and a traditional old towel, the general consensus was that the oven glove like design made the Henry Wag product far easier and more convenient to use – especially when dogs are still excited and wriggly after their walks!

You’ll have to wait until Series 1 Episode 10 of The Customer is Always Right airs to see the Henry Wag TV Debut and to find out who wins the customers’ votes and coveted trophy!
