PATS Sandown celebrated its tenth anniversary last week with a successful show for visitors and exhibitors alike. The event delivered an unrivalled platform for the launch of hundreds of exciting pet product innovations for the trade.

Along with buyers from the major chains there were many from the independent sector including retailers and associated professions such as animal health or dog groomers. Visitors also included overseas distributors looking for new products for their markets.

Henry Wag’s stand was very popular across this range of buyers leading not only to a busy show, but also to many follow-up conversations as we increase the numbers of stockists both in the UK and overseas.

In Grant’s words “We had a very busy first day meeting existing and exciting new contacts and the second day was even better! It is great having British-designed products focused on pet health and well-being that enable regional distributors and the independent sector to benefit from the products that pet owners are now demanding.”

New Product Showcase and Awards

The New Product Showcase, sponsored by pbwnews, was a busy area throughout the event, and retailers admitted they were spoiled for choice as they decided on which items to stock in their stores for the year ahead.

Over 180 products entered the PATS Sandown 2018 New Product Awards including Henry Wag’s micro fibre noodle pet mats and grooming glove towel. Guideline criteria included product innovation, design, quality, packaging and value for money. Henry Wag congratulates the winners:

  • Dog Accessory Product- Grip’n’Tug Toy PetSafe (Radio Systems). A robust toy specifically designed for large breeds to encourage interactive and safe play.
  • Dog Food Product – Nutritional Booster Soopa Pets. Many dog owners will be attracted to its vegetarian option.

Neil Reed, of Pet Stop, Isle of Wight, said: “This is the first time I’ve visited the show and I’m impressed with the diversity of all the products. Seeing all the ranges under one roof is great for independent retailers like us.

So a show for next year’s diary for Henry Wag, when we look forward to meeting you.
